Electronic key management facilitates the everyday operations of Espoo libraries<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

17 libraries, 250 employees and more than 1,000 keys \u2013 LokiTime has made the key management of Espoo libraries easy and efficient.<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

At Espoo libraries, a single employee has several workstations, which means that a large number of keys are required. In addition to this, keys are also required for lending to stand-ins and for shared facilities. Indeed, there are, overall, more than 1,000 keys and access IDs, which are all registered in the LokiTime key control system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The key management of Espoo libraries needed clear policies and a shared system<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Before LokiTime, key management was carried out slightly differently at each library site. Often, people resorted to tables and records written down on paper, which were easily left unupdated. That is, some kind of shared key registry with always up-to-date information was required. LokiTime proved to be a very functional solution to the problem, and the system now encompasses all keys from kitchen pantries to changing rooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, switching over to an electronic form of key management was very much in order. By implementing LokiTime, Espoo libraries have comprehensively taken in hand and clarified key management. The greatest benefit has come from a system that is used by all library sites and from uniform policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLokiTime makes the tracking of keys easier and has definitely helped their management. The biggest advantage is that key handover has to be done through the LokiTime application, which means that all pickups and returns are surely recorded in a system shared by all,\u201d says Anssi Sajama from Espoo libraries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The key control system receives praise from its users<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

LokiTime receives a lot of positive feedback from employees of the libraries: \u201cPeople have said that LokiTime is very simple, clear, user-friendly and reliable. There is no reason why you couldn\u2019t use the system successfully,\u201d explains Sajama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Espoo libraries are also very happy with their co-operation with Sowellus: \u201cSowellus has always been very helpful with everything. Some things might have been taken care of even more easily if we hadn\u2019t been so self-directed and would have just asked Sowellus for help. Help has always been offered and available,\u201d Sajama explains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
